The minshuku we stayed at was in the middle of the countryside about 5
minutes outside of Takayama. On our second morning, I took a walk
around and enjoyed the fresh air and pretty rice paddies. This house
had just planted its rice, and must be in the process of planting more.
The rice seeds are initially planted very close together, and after they
sprout, they are then transfered to the rice paddy where they planted
at even intervals. You can just barely see some rice plants that have
not yet been transplatned to the left of the entrance to the house.
