This is one of the prettiest cherry trees that I have ever seen, sitting
all alone in Kokedera temple. The name "Kokedera" means "moss temple", and
it has become so famous in Japan that you need to make reservations to be
able to visit it. We made our reservations, paid our mandatory $30 "donation"
and made a very worthwhile visit to the temple. The visit started with
chanting some Buddhist sutras while writing the sutra in calligraphy. A bit
of a challenge for me, although they had a paint-by-number version that I
could manage.
