This is a photo of a very famous painting at the Hotel Dieu called
"The Last Judgement". It was commissioned in 1443, and shows Christ
judging the souls of the dead. St. Michael is weighing the souls as
they emerge (naked) from their graves under the ground. The good ones
are sent to heaven to the left, while the bad ones are condemned to
Hell on the right.
