This is Hitomi's sister Yoshiko and her husband Yuichi with Karuna.
This picture was taken right before they were to leave for the airport.
They had been visiting us for over a week, and on the night before they
left, Hitomi's contractions had begun. They were getting severe by
this time, but Hitomi was still at home. Around the same time that
Yoshiko and Yuichi's plane left San Francisco, Hitomi and I were heading
to the hospital and Tiana would be born a few hours later.
