One specialty of hot spring resorts for breakfast is something called an
onsen tamago. Onsen is hotspring, and tamago means egg. The eggs are cooked
for a long time in the hot spring water (which is far from boiling). The
end result is a cooked egg that is still very runny and you can pour it
through a small hole in the egg shell. It is my favourite way to eat eggs,
although hard to duplicate at home.
