The peak of the cherry blossoms was about a week or so before this photo
was taken. Most of the cherry blossoms in Japan are of the same type of
tree and they all flower within a few days of each other, and lose their
blooms after 4 or 5 days. We went to Shinjuku park expecting most of
the flowers to be gone, but Shinjuku park is nice in that it has many
different types of trees that flower at different times. This is also
a type of cherry tree, and I think its flowers are even prettier than
the normal Japanese cherry.
