Maiko & Rikisha

This is a picture of a couple of maiko getting out of a rikisha. The word
rikisha is used all over Asia (usually spelt rickshaw)
for a small wheeled taxi-like device (including
those that are cycle and motor powered). I never realized that the word
actually comes from Japanese. The full word in Japanese is jinrikisha (l͎).
Jin means person, riku means power, and sha means vehicle.
